Although at first glance this may seem like a trivial change we are not encouraging putting executable files in configuration packages or gui packages. Python scripts should go into a binary package, where you can also deploy them.
We realize that this is maybe not very convenient so we added this as a feature request anyway. We will update you here if there is some progress.
